The Mission of the Rotary Foundation of Peninsula Sunrise is to participate actively in the diverse life of our community through the grants it makes each year and the projects the members of Peninsula Sunrise Rotary sponsor and facilitate. In addition, the Foundation integrates our local efforts with global projects, with an emphasis on helping to alleviate the global water crisis.

The foundation has developed several major fundraising events throughout the year, including the club’s global water project (known as H2OpenDoors and the CWENCH Party) , and Irish Night in support of Rotary projects and Kainos.

Woven throughout the club’s activities is continued support for Redwood High in Redwood City, CA, as well as Woodside High School. A continuation school for those who are given concentrated help to finish high school and go on to vocational school or college, Redwood counts on Rotary for a great deal of funding and mentoring. This is not a school with a PTA or alumni association, with many of the students living in poverty conditions.Woodside High's Green Academy, is an active group of teachers and students immersed in the activities of H2OpenDoors. Students from both schools, along with teachers, accompany the H2OpenDoors installation team to villages in third world countries, providing water purification systems and performing health baseline studies..
