Additional Community Support Programs
As the Water Warriors gather at the new water purification site, the volunteers are divided into teams, such as Team Rachel, Team Glasses and Team Hygiene.

Rachel (Remote Area Community Hotspot for Education and Learning)
RACHEL contains all of Wikipedia, the entire Khan Academy curriculum for grades 3-12, the Great Books, and thousands of video tutorials in a variety of languages. The server established its own internet hotspot, pushing content out to up to 100 devices and computers. Perfect for libraries and computer labs. Students download their homework assignments on their smart phones and perform collaborative research on computers and laptops in class.
Several sessions are guided by the project and professionals at World Possible, our partners in getting these remote schools the tools they need.
Restoring Vision Reading Glasses
Another part of the group, through the pre-planned coordination of local Rotarians, a group was sent to Humbaya in Ecuador to pass out nearly 1500 pairs of reading glasses.
“It’s an enjoyable and rewarding experience,” said one Water Warrior. Utilizing an eye chart, and various intensities of eyewear, everyone is independently fitted for eyewear suitable for their needs.
“In Humbaya we had six stations in a very full auditorium,” said another participant. “In the course of about 2.5 hours the auditorium gradually emptied with each resident receiving their own pair of glasses. It was quite a challenge, but in the end, it was quite an accomplishment.”

Every Girl, Everywhere, Sustainable Hygiene Kits
Another group was tasked with indoctrinating high-school-age girls on proper sanitation. At the end of the session each girl received their own personal, re-usable sanitary hygiene kit along with in person instructions on the proper use and care of their kits. The kits are made in country by a group of local women sewing the products.
To achieve the Water Warriors multi-faceted tasks and completions, it took a coordinated effort between the Water Warriors and the local Rotarians on hand to pull the various projects together in a day. Working together in a unified cause gives the Rotary members of both countries a feeling of joint accomplishments.
